Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. A full-time faculty of some 2,000 conducts research, teaches, and delivers health care in every major biomedical specialty. The college has some 730 medical students, 193 Ph.D. students, 106 MD/Ph.D. students and 275 postdoctoral fellows.

The individual in this position will coordinate faculty development programs for the 4,000+ members of the Einstein faculty, coordinating events that involve faculty from all of our campuses, including, but not limited to: Montefiore Medical Center, Jacobi Medical Center, Beth Israel Medical Center, North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System, Bronx Lebanon Medical Center, etc. S/he will also provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean for Faculty Development.


The Coordinator will be expected to function independently on a daily basis, taking direction from the Assistant Dean. S/he will be expected to problem solve and propose solutions to major issues as they arise, and help to develop new standard operating procedures for the office.


  • Independently responsible to make all arrangements for faculty development events, including arranging meetings, checking schedules, securing outside venues and rooms within the institution
  • Maintain a calendar of all faculty development events
  • Coordinate the photocopying and assembly of all packets and handouts for events; work with Graphic Arts in the development of publicity materials
  • Order and confirm all food supplied at faculty development events
  • Write and send all invitations and reminders, Confirmation and Directions for Events to all participant
  • Serve as staff for all faculty development events (e.g., management of registration, materials, setup, etc.)
  • Prepare and process all faculty attendance and disclosure forms for CME credit
  • Coordinate the preparation, distribution and collection of evaluation forms for events with the Office of Educational Resource
  • Develop/maintain content on faculty development website; work with IT to develop electronic registration for all events; database of event element
  • Manage check requests, purchase orders, speaker fees, and balancing the general ledger
  • Develop/maintain electronic filing system for all record.
  • Other related duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 3 years of related experience, including administrative, meeting planning or event coordination
  • The successful candidate will have good writing skills, excellent interpersonal skills and be extremely well organized with attention to detail. In addition, the candidate should be outgoing, creative and resourceful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Experience within a higher education institution or healthcare setting preferred
