    Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation.     List of Responsibilities

    • Supervise Drafting personnel in the absence of the Planning and Design Supervisor
    • Manage and track NYC Department of Buildings permits
    • Acting in-house NYC Department of Buildings Expeditor for filing building permits
    • Manager of event planning for special design and confidential projects
    • Order and maintain FF&E stock in attic
    • Work order manager FF&E relocation projects
    • Maintain files of all Department of Buildings approved plans
    • Maintain full set of drawings of all buildings

    Interior Design

    • Create custom color design boards for special design projects as it relates to event planning
    • Manage, layout, specify and order furniture for all special events monitor and assess all furniture delivery for these projects

    Scope of Responsibility

    • The Specialist is responsible for coordinating with the Plan room Supervisor on all projects
    • Supervises Planning & Design personnel in the absence of the Planning and Design Supervisor
    • Extensive knowledge of New York City Building department permit filing and expediting
    • Coordinate and manage resources for special events, meetings etc
    • Manage and responsible for ordering attic stock and keep updated inventory
    • Supports activities for multiple planners and engineer within the department
    • Support the department’s goal to deliver quality job on budget and on schedule
    • Routinely interface with project managers, labor and outside vendors to complete projects on time and on budget


    Experience and Educational Background

    • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited school of Architecture or Planning (Registered Architect preferred)
    • Must have 5 years of related institutional experience
    • Some supervisory experience preferred

    Skills and Competencies


    • Must be able to work independently
    • Fluency in current version of AutoCAD Architecture Software; ability to make changes to drafts at meetings
    • Must possess strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
    • Must possess excellent organization and communication skills
    • Outstanding, judgment, initiative and attention to detail are essential
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks based on schedule and importance
    • Professional level interactions with all levels of the organization are key to this position
