Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. A full-time faculty of some 2,000 conducts research, teaches, and delivers health care in every major biomedical specialty. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient and Room Preparation:
    • Proper Identification of patient
    • MRI Screening and safety questionnaire
    • Educating the patient by describing and explaining the procedure as it relates specifically to the patient
    • Entering patient data into RIS and other appropriate computer systems as necessary
    • Placing the patient on the scan table in the correct position for the scan to be performed
    • Choosing the appropriate Protocol based on the body part to be examined
    • Obtain appropriate scout image for procedure
  • Obtain cross sectional images: This task includes the proper setting of protocols and sequences to obtain high quality images for diagnosis by the Radiologist
  • Direct involvement during procedure:
    • Assisting the radiologist during MRI functional procedures as needed, for example spectroscopy
    • Assist the anesthesiologist in the organization of equipment
    • Constant attention to the progression of the procedure while in the control room
    •  Involved with operating MEDRAD injector when necessary
  • Maintain adherence to imaging workflow in IDXRad and G.E. Centricity (PACS). This includes tracking exams in IDXRad throughout all steps in the process. Also, verifying images in PACS to ensure the patient, exam type, labeling and orientation are correct
  • Maintain all necessary records of image slices, injections, etc.
  • Full knowledge and adherence to all rules and regulations regarding MRI safety policies and procedures for patients and staff
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area
  • Recruit and manage schedule and maintain records for research subjects
  • Update WEB page content as directed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Radiology Technologist training/experience
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal training in radiologic technology
  • Certification by the ARRT (R)
  • Licensed by the State of New York
  • Experience performing MRI exams in clinical or research setting
  • Experience with MRI Phillips a plus

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 pounds as well as assist with patient maneuvering.
