Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. The Department of Medicine is seeking to hire someone with RN certifications for the Clinical Translation and Implementation S cience Core (CTISC) of the Einstein-Rockefeller-CUNY Center for AIDS Research to coordinate the successful conduct of a multiple research studies related to the epidemiology, prevention and treatment of HIV .
The position will develop, implement, and modify recruitment strategies, ensure regulatory compliance for clinical studies, and maintain accountability for fulfillment of Core obligations. Responsibilities for this position include developing and implementing study subject recruitment efforts and strategies, conducting follow up interviews with research subjects, collecting blood samples from research subjects as indicated, performing specimen handling, storage, and shipping in compliance with OSHA and other relevant standards, carrying out data collection for research studies assigned, performing coding, entry and verification of data collected, providing progress reports, including but not limited to recruitment and follow-up, educating clinic providers on study goals, enrollment criteria and referral mechanisms, initiating contact with IRB and completing the requisite IRB reporting for significant patient events, interacting with the CTISC data management staff for identifying potential study subjects (including regular telephone meetings, examination of the study data environment, proper migration of data from each study site and safeguarding of data integrity and privacy), oversight of all clinical research operations including all regulatory, recruitment, data management, quality assurance, as well as clinical, laboratory and pharmacy procedures resulting in consistently high performance evaluations. Identifying/triaging adverse events, maintaining protocol adherence, and overseeing daily patient flow and explaining study protocols to physicians, PA's, and nurse practitioners in clinic so that referrals are made properly and participants complete the study.
Degrees: BA with RN required
Previous Work Experience: At least two years of experience in study subject recruitment, blood drawing, biological sample shipping and Certification for shipping of biological samples and CITI certification for protection of human subjects in research
