Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. A full-time faculty of some 2,000 conducts research, teaches, and delivers health care in every major biomedical specialty. The college has some 730 medical students, 193 Ph.D. students, 106 MD/Ph.D. students and 275 postdoctoral fellows.

 

Einstein’s major strength, in addition to training physicians and scientists, is its science. During fiscal year 2015, the faculty’s consistently high level of scientific achievement resulted in the awarding of more than $150 million in peer-reviewed grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing oversight and ensures compliance in administration and monitoring of pre-employment drug screening and background investigation requirements;
  • Reviewing all pre-employment background results and following up regarding potential issues delaying completion;
  • Communicating with recruitment staff and hiring managers regarding clearance and satisfactory completion of onboarding requirements;
  • Assisting with orientation process notification and coordination;
  • Completing I-9 and E-Verify validation for all new hires; Creating new employee files for compliance;
  • Supporting full cycle staff recruitment efforts including interview scheduling, pre-employment screenings, reference checks, verification of professional licenses;
  • Creating and editing job postings and placing job advertisements for faculty and staff positions as required;
  • Assisting in preparing offer letters for staff;
  • Representing Einstein at job fairs and community events;
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Educational Background

  • BA degree plus 2-5 years of HR experience. 
  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems-iCims a +

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. 

Skills and Competencies

  • Proactive in approach, strong initiative, good judgment and sound business acumen are highly desired.
  • Flexibility and a service attitude.
  • Excellent creative and critical thinking and solid analytical skills are a must.
  • Exceptional organization, meticulous attention to detail, project management, writing, and oral communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is critical, as is the capability of making progress on multiple assignments with a sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
