Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. To Assistant Administrator will assist the Departmental Administrator in expediting administrative tasks including but not limited to personnel, budgetary, operational, teaching and research aspects of the Department of Medicine


List of Responsibilities

    • Assist divisional administrator with the day to day functions of the Division of General Internal Medicine. Develop budgets, organize and coordinate preparation of grant applications, and maintain contact with funding institutions. Meet with the Departmental Administrator and Principal investigators regarding fiscal and administrative issues, and make sure that grant applications and progress reports are completed properly and submitted on time and that sponsor guidelines are adhered to.
    • Work with the Divisional Administrator and Division Chief regarding organization, development, policy making and management of all of the Division’s projects. Attend meetings with the Divisional Administrator and Division Chief to provide input for facilitating operational efficiencies of the division.
    • Monitor and track expenses charged to grants and University funds, and make sure that expenses are charged appropriately to the correct funds and that there are no deficits.
    • Generate monthly expenditure reports and meet with Principal investigators to discuss/review and implement any changes.
    • Manage and monitor Einstein Banner system, including management of procurement, and finance.
    • Generate, review and evaluate attendance control reports, and make sure that reports are generated and that management actions are taken when necessary.
  • Manage other projects and activities as necessary.


  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business/Finance and 2-3 years of related experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel.
  • Familiarity with basic principles of accounting.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and to multi-task.
  • Management/supervisory skills to work with non-exempt and exempt staff and help them reach their maximum productivity.
