    The Study Coordinator will be a part of a team at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and collaborate with the Principal Investigators (PIs) and Project Director (PD) in all aspects of two Hepatitis C (HCV)-related projects. The first project is a NIH funded study to develop and test a peer intervention to increase linkage HCV treatment following release from jail. The second project is a Merck funded study utilizing artificial intelligence technology (AiCure) via smartphone to improve medication adherence for patients initiating HCV treatment. Additionally, the coordinator will be involved in other projects related to HCV, people who inject drugs (PWID), and their intersection with the criminal justice system. Research related visits will include qualitative interviews, computerized interviews, online surveys, adherence counts, medical chart extraction, and extracting data from online sources. The Study Coordinator may also be involved in additional pilot projects.


    List of Responsibilities

    • Assist the Principal Investigators (PIs) and PD to update study protocols and protocol amendments as needed, including the development of new measures.
    • Manage IRB-related activities.
    • Create regular reports for the IRB, sponsors, and other agencies as needed.
    • Coordinate meetings with study partners, and represent the study at community engagement and networking meetings.
    • Assist PIs and PD to develop recruitment strategies and manage tracking database.
    • Oversee that research visits are carried out consistently with protocols.
    • Coordinate data collection and data management.
    • Help manage and analyze data; perform regular audits to ensure that collected data are complete and accurate, and research protocols are being followed.
    • Participate in disseminating study findings.
    • Assist with preparation and writing of grant proposals.
    • Troubleshoot study-related problems.
    • Facilitate study-related financial transactions.
    • Assist the Division Administrative staff to ensure execution of program budgets, subcontracts, consultant contracts, and grant proposal submissions.
    • Travel to multiple clinical and research sites in New York City to conduct and oversee study-related activities and facilitate participant recruitment and follow-up.
    • Once or twice weekly evening hours may be required for meetings for a portion of the study (for about 12 weeks).
    • Other duties as assigned




    Experience and Educational Background


    • Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, psychology, public health, or related field and at least 1-2 years experience with managing research projects; Master’s Degree preferred.
    • At least one year of experience collecting data for research (e.g. conducting interviews, analyzing data)
    • Some experience with qualitative research

    Skills and Competencies


    • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • As part of a team, must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and adhere to study protocol
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
    • Able to write scientific documents
    • Detail oriented
    • Knowledge of SPSS, STATA, or SAS preferred
    • Proficient Internet skills
    • Fluency in English (Fluency in English and Spanish preferred)
