    The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, investigators, research coordinators, and administrative staff to provide routine gynecologic and sexually transmitted disease (STD) care and quality nursing care for patients participating in clinical trials. 


      S/he is responsible for managing and coordinating gyn and STD care of HIV+ and HIV- adult and adolescent patients and study subjects enrolled in therapeutic and non-therapeutic clinical research studies. Responsibilities include: diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections, obtaining informed consent and medical histories; providing counseling on HIV risk reduction and contraceptive options; providing preexposure prophylaxis for individuals at high risk for contracting HIV; prescribing study medications; conducting physical exams and procedures; assessing symptoms and medication side effects; administering study questionnaires; reviewing and providing laboratory and other test results; assisting with preparation of study reports; helping to manage adverse events; and keeping accurate records of all visits.
