    List of Responsibilities

    • Stand competent watches; i.e. inside, outside and boiler plant;
    • Under a minimum of supervision, start up, stop, operate and maintain all buildings’ central operating systems and related equipment which include chillers, absorbers and low pressure boilers;
    • Isolate systems for repair, replace components; i.e. filters, strainers, valves, floats, lube oil and clean cooling towers and fan coils;
    • Isolate electrical systems, check fuses, resistance, continuity of related control circuits and power equipment;
    • Monitor, operate and adjust computerized building management and alarm systems;
    • Test and treat boiler chemical for main high pressure boilers and low pressure boilers;
    • Take air flow readings and air change calculations;
    • Perform log outs and tag outs of mechanical and electrical systems;
    • Make repairs, assign work and perform all that is necessary to ensure the plant and building integrity with self guidance in the technical aspects of the work;
    • Provide training to new and lower grade employees;
    • Respond to emergency situations when on site;
    • Take and record meter readings;
    • Fill out required log book;
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.


    Experience and Educational Background

    • High School Diploma and a minimum of 8 years of mechanical experience is required.
    • NYC Refrigeration License preferred.

    • May be subject to oral and actual testing of the on systems and component startup, shutdown, and trouble-shooting;
    • Must be able to work independently.

    Hours of position: Sunday –Monday- 8am-4pm  Thursday & Friday-8am-4pm

    Days off-Tuesday and Wednesday
