    The Study Coordinator will work full-time on a 4-year NIH-funded study to examine how. This project is being conducted in community Syringe Exchange Programs as well as in community primary care locations and will look at whether onsite buprenorphine treatment has different outcomes than giving a referral to community treatment. The study will enroll approximately 250 participants and follow them for a 6 month period.  Research visits include data collection from both participant surveys and urine samples.


    • Oversee participant interviews.
    • Help to manage the day-to-day operations of the project with investigators, project director, study coordinators and clinical staff.
    • Work with Principal Investigator (PI) and Project Director to update study protocols, including the development of new measures, and preparing protocol amendments to the Institutional Review Board as needed.
    • Work with PI to develop recruitment strategies and manage tracking database; prepare regular reports for the PI about recruitment and tracking.
    • Attend meetings with study partners, staff and staff at syringe exchange programs.
    • Securely manage and maintain study data
    • Perform regular audits to ensure that collected data are complete and accurate, and research protocols are being followed.
    • Oversee research visits
    • Assist in drafting reports, preparing conference abstracts, and presentations related to the project.
    • Maintain supply and records of study incentives and travel vouchers as well as multiple study logs.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Experience and Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in public health, clinical epidemiology or related field and 3-5 years of experience required. Master's Degree.
    • At least two years of experience collecting data for research (e.g. conducting interviews, collecting biologic specimens, extracting medical records).  Experience working with similar populations preferred.


    Skills and Competencies

    • As part of a team, must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and adhere to study protocol.
    • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, ACCESS, Excel, and SAS or Stata.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; detail oriented.
    • Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
