Founded in 1955, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Einstein) is one of the nation’s premier institutions for medical education, basic research and clinical investigation. A full-time faculty of some 2,000 conducts research, teaches, and delivers health care in every major biomedical specialty. The college has some 730 medical students, 193 Ph.D. students, 106 MD/Ph.D. students and 275 postdoctoral fellows.

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking an Institutional Accreditation Specialist. This new position will report to the Director of Accreditation and join in a newly expanded function, with responsibility for oversight, guidance, and compliance for State and federal regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies, including the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the New York State Education Department, and federal regulatory agencies.
In collaboration with institutional leadership, support Einstein’s efforts as a Middle States Commission on Higher Education candidate institution to achieve and maintain accreditation, including coordination of all reporting; the self-study design, process and drafting; working with the steering committee, working groups, faculty, staff, and other constituencies; collecting and maintaining an evidence inventory; hosting self-study staff and team visits; and complying with candidacy requirements. Provide full administrative and planning support for the entire re-accreditation process and continuing accreditation compliance for both MSCHE and LCME, such as visits, self-studies, reporting, maintaining current data and information, annual reporting, substantive change reporting and submissions, institutional responses to action letters, and providing data, summaries, and reports for accreditation and regulatory purposes as needed. Be current on MSCHE and LCME standards, processes and policies. Attend MSCHE, LCME and other educational programming events and meetings. Guide institution in compliance with accreditation standards, including continuous strategic planning and assessment linked to mission and budgeting; data collection, management, and reporting, such as data related to assessment of student learning outcomes, program review, institutional effectiveness, and external reporting requirements. Provide data, summaries, and reports for accreditation and regulatory purposes as needed.
The successful incumbent will build effective, collaborative relationships among a diverse population of faculty, staff, and external groups with a focus to achieving and maintaining full Einstein accreditation. Supports senior academic and administrative leaders on matters related to institutional accreditation processes.
