POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Senior Manager of Interior Design with the provision of strategic vision to deliver design solutions that are timeless, support a healing and healthy environment, and define the Montefiore Einstein Brand.

Assist the Senior Manager of Interior Design with the develop of comprehensive interior design guidelines and updating the guidelines yearly to ensure availability of products, recommend new products, and other revisions to meet new requirements or regulations.

Assist the Senior Manager of Interior Design with the development of space planning guidelines to standardize the size of workspaces based on staff title. Include illustrations for typical room sizes and furniture layouts.

Be an integral member of the Design and Construction capital delivery team, working in conjunction with assigned PM team members.

Develop high-level estimates, establish budgets, manage to the budgets, review, and analysis cost monthly and provide anticipated exposures.

Manage the provision of selection of interior finishes, design of architectural features, specification of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), including medical equipment and signage by outside architectural firms, consultants, and vendors.

Provide in-house interior design services, FF&E selection and medical equipment selection, on small projects. Prepare drawings and specifications, as needed. Review submittals. Monitor construction and installation services.

Ensure design solutions are cost effective and meet the schedule requirements while maintaining the highest possible quality of finishes.

Conduct design review meetings with the Project Management and A/E Teams at each stage of the design process.  Review critical submittals, as needed.

Prepare design and finish presentations, as needed.

Provide interiors management support to the PM Team.

Prepare necessary procurement documents, including drawings, specifications, and description of services. Obtain bids and quotes for FF&E, medical equipment, and signage. Analysis bids and quotes, confirming accuracy and comparing multiple bids and quotes. Negotiate pricing. Prepare necessary purchase orders. Review and approve invoices.

Oversee installation of FF&E, medical equipment, signage, and specialized finishes. Prepare punch lists and confirm final completion.

Round through patient areas to check furniture for replacement cycle. Inspect properties, work with clients, advise on furniture installation matters, and ensure compliance.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design
  • 10+ years’ experience

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Understanding of FGI Guidelines, healthcare codes, NYC and NYS building codes, and ADA.

Design Planning - Knowledge of developing master plan guiding principles, interior design planning and space management, universal/adaptive design in a healthcare environment, LEED, and Healthy Hospitals.

Building Materials -   Knowledge of interior finish materials including proper specification of material for designated use, understanding materials that promote healthy environments, environmental of materials, and material life cycle.

Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

MS Office, Project, NCQDI Certification preferred, SketchUp, AutoCAD

PROBLEM SOLVING:

Ability to prioritize tasks and work on both short term and long-term solutions simultaneously

Ability to develop and manage budgets and schedules

Follow up on the purchasing process, both internal and external

Working in fast past changing environment, new specialty growth, practice moves and etc.

Managing expectations of all PM team members, Project Sponsors, and end users.

Meeting multiple project deadlines while adhering to design standards and quality

Minimum Salary Range

USD $70,200.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range

USD $78,000.00/Yr.

Development and implement interior design, furniture, fixtures, and equipment standards to support a healing environment for our patients, staff, and visitor's needs. Manage the provision of interior design services by outside architectural firms on large projects and provide in-house design services on small projects to all sites, including MMC, CHAM, Weiler (Einstein), Hutch, WSQ, Wakefield, MNR, Shaffer, MNV, AECOM, MMG off sites and FGP off sites.
