POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and oversee a College-wide Research Administrators development program including serving a mentor to more than 15 departmental administrators; work closely with human resources, research finance and office of grants support to identify needs and gaps and identify training to enhance the skill sets of departmental administrators; participate in creating KPIs for consistent evaluation; participate in hiring and evaluation processes related to departmental administrators.

 

Support the Dean in the strategic evaluation and approval of faculty recruitment in key areas including those at the level of on track faculty and investigators. Support the Dean in benchmarking and supporting salary and retention negotiations and ensure equity and fairness. Create job requisitions for the Office of the Dean

 

Assist with integrating research between Montefiore and Einstein, and all departments involved with research functions at Einstein.

 

Approve offer letters for research trainees, visiting students and interns on behalf of the Dean’s office.

 

Provide institutional approval on EPAF adjustments: change in effort, salary reductions, salary increases, bonuses and supplements.

 

Work with the offices of grant support, clinical trials, human research affairs, biotechnology and business development, general counsel, and research finance to develop workflows, policies, and efficiency of processes. Assist the Dean in the ongoing development of KPIs and evaluation of effectiveness; works closely, on behalf of Dean, with department heads to respond to dynamic changes and demands related to research and analysis to ensure resources are being optimized. 

 

Assist with creating workflows, policies, communications throughout the departments.

 

Support the the development and expansion of the Division of Clinical and Translational Research initiative to grow and manage the clinical research enterprise across Einstein and Montefiore Health System.

 

Oversee contract review and management on behalf of the Dean’s Office To ensure that all appropriate parties and College interests have been secured before the Office of the Dean executes contractual commitments.

 

Initiate and direct personnel related request/issues to human resources for the dean’s office: new hires, terminations, leave of absences, promotions, performance reviews, job requisitions and other related issues.

 

Facilitate onboarding and obtaining system access for executive members of central administration.

 

Manage donor gifts including coordinating the various reporting requirements to ensure they are completed in a timely manner. Drafting reports as needed.

 

Present requests for faculty salary reductions and interim support to the Dean and Research Planning Meeting committee members with needed backup information. Communicate the Dean and committees’ decisions back to the faculty member, chair, and department administrator.

 

Prepare feasibility analyses and manage strategic projects for a variety of institutional needs including research initiatives and academic programming.

 

Assist with other projects as needed.

 

This is an in office role-not open to a hybrid schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree preferably in public administration, public health or business administration.

3-5 years of experience in a high visibility role requiring strategic planning and exceptional project management skills

Experience in proposal development, including strong writing, editing and content organization skills

Excellent project management skills with superb attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Strong financial analysis and business technology skills including utilizing Excel

Self-motivated with the ability to independently set priorities and work under minimal supervision

Collaborative approach and ability to work with a wide variety of individuals across different levels of an organization

Experience using Cayuse helpful, but not required

Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities including mentoring staff at intermediate and senior levels.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is listed below. Albert Einstein College of Medicine considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Maximum Salary Range

USD $200,000.00/Yr.
