POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Albert Einstein College of Medicine is currently recruiting for a Masters-level biostatistician to join the Research team within the Departments of Surgery and Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. The primary responsibilities will be to help develop and collaborate with investigators on studies related to emerging surgical technology and evaluating surgical techniques devices and subsequent outcomes.

 

Specific duties will include

  • Management, analysis and reporting of epidemiological, clinical, laboratory and electronic health records data.
  • Working with faculty, fellows and residents, the successful candidate will also provide assistance on grant proposals, papers, and presentations.
  • Statistical analysis of research data for publications, grant proposals, regulatory reports, and presentations in collaboration with investigators.
  • Facilitate the preparation of conference abstracts, development of manuscripts for publication, and preparation of grant proposals.
  • Assist PI with troubleshooting by running analyses, cleaning and preparing datasets.
  • Ensure quality and integrity of data collection, maintenance, and reporting through regular analysis, cleaning, and audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate.
  • Oversee database enhancement projects, working collaboratively with research staff, PIs, software developers, and data scientists.
  • Manage data requests from external sources and collaborators.
  • Investigate novel statistical methods, when appropriate and necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant data, in accordance with Institutional Review Board and federal policies.
  • Handle secure transmission of patient data, both within the institution (Albert Einstein College of Medicine) and to external approved collaborators.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate level training in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, population health sciences, public health, medicine or related field is required.
  • Completed graduate training at Master's level or beyond is required.
  • Statistics; computing skills using SAS and other standard software; collaborative research experience in a biomedical research environment; ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently; excellent verbal and written communication skills.  

Minimum Salary Range

USD $80,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range

USD $72,000.00/Yr.
