About Us

The Research Coordinator will work full-time on NIH-funded research studies being conducted as part of the Integrated Management of Chronic Pain and OUD for Whole Recovery Research Center at Montefiore/Einstein (IMPOWR-ME). The studies test interventions aiming to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals living with chronic pain and opioid use disorder. The Research Coordinator will report to the Project Director (PD) and will assist in providing oversight of the studies. The Research Coordinator will directly supervise the Study Coordinators, oversee data collection, ensure smooth operation of the studies, and ensure the research is conducted in adherence to protocols and regulatory requirements. This position is 100% onsite, splitting time between Montefiore and Einstein’s opioid treatment programs, hospitals, ambulatory clinics, and the Division of General Internal Medicine.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the PD on implementation of all aspects of the studies.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the projects, including supervision of study staff (eg study coordinators.)
  • Provide regular feedback to staff on their performance.
  • Train and supervise new staff on study procedures.
  • Supervise participant recruitment, tracking, retention, and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with study staff and interventionists (psychologists, physical therapists, and yoga therapists) to ensure study intervention sessions run smoothly.
  • Work with the Project Director (PD) to maintain, update, and revise study protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct quality assurance on adherence to study and regulatory procedures
  • Partner with Einstein’s REDCap team to revise and maintain study databases.
  • Oversee study data collection by study staff and troubleshoot challenges that arise with REDCap and Horizon, and support data quality assurance and cleaning.
  • Assist the PD with Institutional Review Board (IRB)-related activities
  • Prepare agendas for and facilitate weekly meetings with study staff and write and distribute action items from these meetings.
  • Assist the PD in the preparation of reports to the Data Safety Monitoring Board, NIH, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the PD and PI to develop and disseminate presentations about the project.
  • Assist the PD in the creation and management of independent contracts and purchasing requisitions.
  • Manage the ordering of supplies and cell phones for study and intervention visits.
  • Collaborate with site staff where research is being conducted to facilitate study logistics and operations.
  • Determine staffing needs to ensure efficient and appropriate coverage, and recommend appropriate changes to staffing patterns as needed.
  • Recruit, acclimate, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student research interns.
  • Work with Departmental Administrator to develop and monitor project budgets.
  • Assist PI with preparation of grant proposals (new and competing renewals).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in research, healthcare, or social services
  • Experience with REDCap preferred

 

Skills and Competencies

  • Problem solving and ability to identify solutions to issues that arise
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Minimum Salary Range

USD $63,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary Range

USD $70,000.00/Yr.
