Montefiore Einstein is the umbrella organization for Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System. In addition to its medical and doctoral program, Einstein offers master’s degrees in clinical research methods and bioethics. Einstein receives more than $192 million in NIH funding each year and supports NIH-designated research centers in cancer, aging, AIDS, intellectual and developmental disorders, clinical and translational research, and two in diabetes. Montefiore provides care to approximately three million people in communities across the Bronx, Westchester, and Hudson Valley. It comprises 10 hospitals and over two hundred outpatient ambulatory care sites.
Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks an experienced leader in medical education to serve as the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education (SADME). Reporting to the Vice Dean for Education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the SADME will oversee all aspects of the medical education program, which impacts 714 MD students and 125 students in the combined MD-PhD program.
The SADME oversees the admissions, medical education, and student affairs offices. This role is responsible for leading a cohesive central team of Associate and Assistant Deans, course and program directors, and administrative staff. The SADME oversees MD curriculum development and management for the MD program and for the MD-PhD program in biomedical sciences.
In partnership with other institutional and educational leaders, the SADME fosters a welcoming learning environment across Einstein and Montefiore to ensure learners engage in the requisite education to address societal needs while promoting equitable, high-quality healthcare.
The SADME also serves as the Faculty Accreditation Lead for the LCME accreditation process. In addition to actively guiding the education team and institution through this process, the SADME facilitates compliance with all standards and elements and identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation to address any accreditation needs.
As a leader, the SADME will build trusted relationships across Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Einstein enterprise as they relate to medical education. As a member of the senior leadership team of the College of Medicine, the SADME will collaborate with peer Senior Associate Deans and Associate Deans to not only continue to build excellence, but also to foster collaboration in education across Einstein. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential. The SADME must be creative and decisive, but also build consensus, with demonstrated success in a highly matrixed, complex, multi-faceted academic environment.

Location: Albert Einstein College of Medicine is based in the northeast Bronx in New York City. Relocation to the Greater New York City area is required for this leadership role.
The Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education will be an accomplished leader, educator, and trained physician. The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrative leader with a distinguished track record in education program development, innovation, and scholarship. Experience in training and mentoring the next generation of physicians and physician-scientists is highly desired. The ideal candidate will also possess relevant experience in leading or contributing to an LCME accreditation process.
The successful candidate should be a change agent with substantial leadership experience and outcomes in an academic setting which include the ability to share a vision for medical education programming, to persuade a wide range of audiences of its value, and to engage teams and key stakeholders in its implementation. This authentic relationship builder will have a track record of successfully navigating and influencing key stakeholders in a matrixed academic organization.

Compensation Range: The base salary range for this position is $300 to $400K. In addition, this executive will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus, retirement, and additional benefits. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
