About Us

We are seeking a Psychology Assistant to support faculty in administering the NIH-funded Validation of the Remote Cognitive Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Research (R-CARE) Toolbox study. This role involves working on a research project focused on cognitive aging and Alzheimer’s disease, with responsibilities spanning participant recruitment, neuropsychological testing, data management, and research coordination.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and screen study participants
  • Administer neuropsychological tests in both in-person and remote settings
  • Obtain informed consent and administer study questionnaires in both in-person and remote contexts
  • Conduct participant interviews, collect and tabulate data, and ensure accurate documentation
  • Maintain and manage study databases, including REDCap and Excel
  • Oversee volunteers affiliated with the project and assist in training new study personnel
  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) in generating study reports and research documentation
  • Organize grant-related materials and support Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions
  • Perform other related research and administrative duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in database management and a clear understanding of clinical and research databases
  • Project management experience with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team environment

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Engage with individuals and groups, both internal and external to the institution
  • Work closely with research faculty, study participants, and collaborating institutions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field
  • Prior experience working in a neuroscience or neuropsychology laboratory is preferred
  • Familiarity with software programs such as Excel, SPSS, and REDCap is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with older adults is a plus

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
