About Us

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will assist Community Outreach & Engagement (COE)/BOLD Program Director and team managers in recruiting, screening and interviewing English- and Spanish-speaking cancer patients and community members towards engaging them in a peer support, navigation, and cancer advocacy program.   This may include obtaining informed consent, conducting in-person and telephone interviews, developing and translating educational/study materials, and collecting and entering data for community outreach and engagement efforts/ studies. Clinical Interviewer will work in collaboration with interns/volunteers, community organizations, and clinical and research staff. 

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will engage and interview cancer patients, survivors, and community members in psychosocial needs, services, and cancer advocacy activity identified through outreach and in-reach at Montefiore affiliated clinics to engage patients in cancer-related services. 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Interview study participants for selection into the study;
  2. Assist with sourcing and recruiting English and Spanish speaking cancer patients as well as conduct community outreach activities.
  3. Conduct assessments/interviews, data collection and entry.
  4. Develop educational materials in English and Spanish.
  5. Follow up with community members/patients for data collection and ensure needs are met.
  6. Manage databases using Excel.
  7. Report writing.
  8. Follow study/program protocols and procedures.
  9. Attend regular meetings with COE/BOLD team.
  10. Build and maintain positive working relationships with community partners.
  11. Work collaboratively with COE/BOLD team to achieve program goals.
  12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Educational Background – 

High school degree plus at least 2 year of community outreach and interviewing experience working with diverse, underserved populations required.   

Skills and Competencies – 

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PDAs for data collection.   Knowledge of Qualtrics and Infographics programs (e.g., InfoChart, Canva) preferred.     Proficient in written and spoken Spanish.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
