Research Technician B

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory inventory by ordering routine supplies; maintainin, cell lines, and assisting with purchasing orders. In addition, the technician will assist in research that involves isolation of antibodies from mouse or human cell lines, produce and purify recombinant antibodies, and characterize those antibodies for their biological activities;

The person will:

• Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
• Require occasional guidance;
• Order routine supplies;
• Modify technical procedures;
• Train other lab members;
• Guide other lab members;
• A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
• Occasionally analyze data;
• Interpret data;
• Make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*

Required:

• Required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.

Preferred: 

• 1 to 2 years in general lab work and cell culture preferred.
• Background in Biochemistry preferred.
• Should be able to calculate concentrations and prepare reagents correctly.
• Organizational skills, detailed oriented, record keeping and initiative is preferred.
