About Us

The Study Coordinator (SC) will work with Dr. Alyson Moadel (PI) on research projects within the BOLD cancer screening, education and support program.  Specifically, the SC would assist PI and investigative team on funded projects relating to Bronx-based lung and colorectal cancer screening, cancer education and survivorship, and psycho-oncology investigations. In this role, the Study Coordinator will be involved in assessment, data entry/analysis, reporting writing, and data submission and management.  The Study Coordinator will work directly under the PI, Dr. Alyson Moadel, senior managers and co-investigators.   

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with PI and investigative team to assist with study implementation, and evaluation. 
  2. Under supervision of investigative team, prepare surveys in English and Spanish (with support from Spanish-speaking interns), database, and workflow for project implementation. 
  3. Work closely with BOLD outreach and support teams to ensure steady flow of referrals as well as address no-shows through targeted outreach.
  4. Assist with data collection, analysis and cleaning, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
  5. Assist with IRB progress reports and protocol amendments as needed.
  6. Develop appropriate progress reports.
  7. Interface with EPIC for extracting and monitoring patient referrals and other patient-related information for program/research purposes. 
  8. Assist PI and study team in developing literature reviews and data tables relevant to project.
  9. Assist in the preparation of grants for future studies.
  10. Attend regular team meetings to discuss programmatic and research activity progress.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibility 

Will have daily interaction with PI and study team.

May liaise with study participants and interact with other research staff on a daily basis.

Will assist in mentoring and oversight of student interns and consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Educational Background 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree required.

Skills and Competencies 

  1. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to apply technology to resolve problems.
  2. Must demonstrate proven knowledge of Excel, and ability to perform basic data analyses.  Having knowledge of SPSS and Qualtrics, a plus.
  3. Outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail are essential. Must be able manage multiple databases and competing priorities.
  4. Can be relied upon to ensure that activities within areas of specific responsibility are completed in a timely manner. 
  5. Identifies, defines and analyzes information and situations before recommending a course of action.
  6. Seeks to apply technology and innovation to improve efficiency and solve problems. 
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  8. Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essential.
  9. Written and spoken fluency in English and Spanish required.

Minimum Salary Range

USD $58,500.00/Yr.
