About Us

This position will be working with Drs. Rabin, Ezzati, Lipton  on an NIH funded R01 Validation of the Remote Cognitive Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Research (R-CARE) Toolbox for Diverse Populations. This study will employ a randomized, counterbalanced design  to administer a comprehensive clinical and cognitive battery across two assessment modes (in-person vs. remote) separated by 2-6 weeks at baseline, with follow up visits at 18 and 36 months.

The Research Coordinator assists the Principal Investigator with collection of data and oversees recruitment of study participants, working in close coordination with the team and reporting directly to Dr. Rabin on day-to-day operations and progress. They assist with data collection and analysis, as well as overseeing the management of participants.

The Research Coordinator assists with daily quality assurance protocols and computer maintenance, database management and the backup and archiving of datasets to be recorded under this project. If needed, they may assist in the programming of experimental paradigms as well as in the first steps of data analysis.

They may oversee participant recruitment, manage community engagement, and the development of recruitment materials. They will assist with the preparation and submission of materials for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and other regulatory bodies.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with PI to develop study protocols and protocol amendments for the IRB as needed, including the development of new measures.
  2. Coordinate and supervise daily operations of study protocols.
  3. Create and maintain a centralized database in which all study data will be stored.
  4. Manage data collection, analysis and cleaning, performing regular audits to ensure that the data collected are complete and accurate, and that the research is being conducted as outlined in the protocol.
  5. Develop appropriate progress reports for the PI, study funding agency, monitoring boards and the IRB.
  6. Assist PI with preparation of grant proposals (new and competing renewals).  Assist the faculty in the Motor Aging Research Group in gathering the required documents and data needed to prepare grant applications. Confirm that the appropriate resources are available, which are needed by the PI.
  7. Arrange meetings of study partners, develop meeting agendas, and facilitate meeting.
  8. Facilitate the preparation of conference abstracts, oral presentations, and poster presentations, and participate in the development of manuscripts for publication.
  9. Partner with departmental IT resources in the development of databases; data coding manuals and data entry guidelines. Train staff and interns to collect and enter data appropriately.
  10. Manage the collection of data from importable and exportable formats for rapid dissemination to PIs and sponsors.
  11. Ensure that adverse events and protocol deviations are submitted to the IRB.
  12. Represent the study at internal and external academic meetings. Act as a liaison to project partners to discuss new procedures that could be implemented.
  13. Determine staffing needs to ensure efficient and appropriate coverage, and recommend appropriate changes to staffing patterns as needed. Manage staff performance and valuate the quality of work providing timely and corrective feedback as needed.
  14. Participate in identifying and assisting junior faculty in career development activities.
  15. Recruit, acclimate, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student research interns.
  16. Work with Departmental Administrator to develop and monitor project budgets
  17. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to apply technology to resolve problems.
  • Must demonstrate proven knowledge of SPSS, SAS, or other statistical software and ability to perform data analysis.
  • Experience with RedCap, Qualtrics or other database software is strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding judgment, initiative, and attention to detail are essential. Must be able manage competing priorities while supporting more than one PI.
  • Can be relied upon to ensure that activities within areas of specific responsibility are completed in a timely manner and within budget
  • Outline project goals and timelines and reviews progress at defined intervals.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essential

Maximum Salary Range

USD $67,000.00/Yr.
