The Counter Assistant, III will provide support in a variety of areas to Food Services.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in daily cleanup & set-up of coffee shop.
General stocking & receiving of deliveries.
Prepare and deliver outgoing orders and morning coffee shop inventory.
Prepare fruit platters and bowls; specialty sandwiches and provides food preparation assistance such as washing/chopping vegetables and other food items.
Set up and maintain counter/sandwich area and check-out counter.
Set-up and maintain stock of foods for purchase and service. Restock inventory.
Provide counter service to guests. Answer telephone and provide guidance to callers.
Provide set-up and clean-up for catered parties and events.
Identify prices of goods and tabulate bills using cash registers and/or calculators. Process cash and credit/debit card transactions. Issue receipts and/or change due to customers.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Educational Background
H.S. Diploma and 3 years of related experience required.
Prior experience in food preparation using fresh produce strongly preferred.
NYS license food handler preferred. Knowledge of Kosher dietary laws also preferred.
Skills and Competencies
Good organization skills. Provides excellent customer service and is detailed oriented.
Must be able to handle food according to established sanitary guidelines.
Speaks to clients and colleagues in a respectful and thoughtful manner.
