About Us

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will assist Community Outreach & Engagement (COE)/BOLD Program Director and BOLD senior staff in recruiting, screening and interviewing English- and Spanish-speaking community members, patients and volunteers towards engaging them in cancer screening, prevention and support services.   This may include obtaining informed consent, conducting in-person and telephone interviews, developing and translating educational/study materials, and collecting and entering data for community outreach and engagement efforts, patient wellness workshops/events, and BOLD Boutique operations. Clinical Interviewer will work in collaboration with interns/volunteers, community organizations, and clinical and research staff.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will serve as a “Community/Patient Wellness Worker” through their work in the community around assessment and navigation regarding cancer screening, prevention, and support services. 

  1. Conduct community/patient outreach and inreach activities.
  2. Conduct assessments/interviews, data collection and entry.
  3. Develop workshop/event calendar, flyers, and educational materials in English and Spanish.
  4. Follow up with community members/patients for data collection and ensure needs are met.
  5. Manage databases using Excel.
  6. Report writing.
  7. Follow study/program protocols and procedures.
  8. Attend regular meetings with COE/BOLD team.
  9. Build and maintain positive working relationships with community partners/peer navigators.
  10. Work collaboratively with COE/BOLD team to achieve program goals.
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Scope-

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will engage and interview community members in cancer education, awareness, and screening activity through outreach in the Bronx, conduct surveys of patients and peer navigators, and assist with in-reach at Montefiore affiliated clinics to engage patients in cancer-related services. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience and Educational Background 

High school degree plus at least 2 years of community outreach and interviewing experience working with diverse, underserved populations required.   

Skills and Competencies 

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PDAs for data collection.   Knowledge of Qualtrics and Infographics programs (e.g., InfoChart, Canva) preferred.     Proficient in written and spoken Spanish.
