POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The person will:
- Perform a moderate number of simple, and/or moderate, and/or complex technical procedures;
- Maintain a variety of animal, procedural, and study records.
- Assist/Perform a variety of in vivo mouse injections, dosing, and sample collection procedures for rodents.
- Development of PDX models and establishment of PDX libraries.
- Perform animal husbandry and additional related duties as necessary to the functioning of the facility.
- Performing basic veterinary care/treatment functions, and maintenance of relevant facility records.
- Require supervision only rarely;
- Responsible for consumable supplies inventory management, ordering/receipt of incoming animals & supplies,
- May routinely be responsible for requesting quotes and information for purchasing equipment for the laboratory;
- Frequently modify technical procedures;
- Frequently train or guide other lab members;
- May frequently operate, maintain and troubleshoot complex, high tech equipment;*
- Frequently modify/formulate experimental protocols;
- Frequently analyze and interpret data;
- May make frequent written contributions to papers and grant proposals;*
- An understanding of complex scientific literature and an extensive understanding of research goals and rationale is required.
- Responsible for document management and compliance with all institutional (IACUC) accrediting (AAALAC) protocols & policies.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required to have at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related science or equivalent skills or experience, and four and one-half or more years of related experience.
