Research Technician B

 

The person will:

• Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures;
  • cell Culture
  • PCR/qPCR
  • Reagent Preparation
• Require occasional guidance;
• Occasionally be responsible for ordering routine supplies;
• Rarely modify technical procedures;
• Rarely train other lab members;
• Rarely guide other lab members;
• A simple / limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required;
• Occasionally analyze data;
• Rarely interpret data;
• Rarely make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.*

Education: BA or BS in Biology or related field; or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.

Should have knowledge of basic lab safety and procedures usually covered in university laboratory courses (Biology,
Chemistry. Some training in molecular biology a plus)

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rates for this are listed below. This rate is based on the 1199 bargaining unit contract.
